The firm marked its 50th anniversary with a celebration in Hong Kong, part of a global series of events this year.
The gathering was held at the Asia Society Hong Kong Center, where KPF leadership, including Principals James von Klemperer, Forth Bagley, Florence Chan, Marianne Kwok, and Robert Whitlock, and Directors Myriam Hamdi, Manman Huang, Yee Tak Lau, and Grace Liao joined a toast with some of the city’s most influential development and hospitality figures: Tim Blackburn of Swire Properties, Sonia Cheng of Rosewood Hotel Group, Donald Choi of the Urban Renewal Authority, Graeme Torre of Hongkong Land, Michael Wong of Sun Hung Kai Properties, and Allan Zeman of Lan Kwai Fong Group.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) holds significant meaning in KPF’s history. Hong Kong was where the firm took its earliest steps into the Asian market, and over the following decades KPF has designed landmark projects that shaped the city’s global image, including Victoria Dockside and the International Commerce Centre. In Shenzhen, KPF-designed projects including Ping An Finance Centre, China Resources Headquarters, and The Wave give form to the city’s rapid growth, alongside major residential developments One Shenzhen Bay and Guangzhou One Pengrui. KPF has designed R&D centers and offices across the GBA for leading technology companies including TP-LINK, OPPO, Tencent, and Lenovo. In Nansha, Guangzhou, the firm designed the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). Looking ahead, projects underway in the region include Guangzhou Baietan MixC, One Bay Park, and Baker Circle.
