James von Klemperer Delivers Keynote Speech at the Tall Buildings Summit 2026

On October 13, the KPF President & Principal drew on the firm’s global portfolio to illustrate how towers can behave more like entire precincts when the public realm is designed with intention.

Jamie delivered the Opening Plenary Keynote “How Tall Buildings Connect to and Improve Their Urban Surroundings” at the Urban Planning & Tall Buildings Summit 2026 in Tel Aviv, framing the Summit’s two central sessions on tall building execution and urban planning policy. Drawing on projects including Lotte World Tower and Mall, Hudson Yards, One Vanderbilt, and the Azrieli Spiral Tower, he traced the shift from well-designed but solitary towers to towers that act as a precinct where ground floors, public realm, and uses layer together across an entire district.

Approximately 800 people attended the keynote, including industry leaders, developers, architects, and city officials. Jamie’s talk was followed by a panel discussion between the heads of urban planning from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
