James von Klemperer and Lloyd Sigal Present at CTBUH 2025 China Conference in Shanghai

Jamie and Lloyd delivered presentations aligned with the conference theme, “Sustainable Transformation of High-Density Cities,” on November 19 and 20 at the event in Shanghai.

The event brought together international leaders in architecture, engineering, and urban development to address the evolving challenges and opportunities of dense urban environments. Jamie presented his perspectives on balancing social, ecological, and economic priorities to create sustainable and livable cities. Drawing from KPF’s global portfolio—including landmark high-rise projects such as North Bund (Lot 91) in Shanghai and One Vanderbilt in New York—Jamie discussed how architecture can respond to shifting demographics, economic structures, and cultural needs. The day before, Lloyd contributed a presentation on large-scale projects and repositioning outdated buildings, sharing examples from KPF’s extensive experience with remaking and modernizing New York City’s urban fabric, including Hudson Yards, 390 Madison Avenue, and 660 Fifth Avenue.

KPF’s longstanding relationship with the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) is reflected in the firm’s ongoing participation in CTBUH events, publications, and initiatives around the world. In September, Jamie and several other KPF Principals presented extensively at the CTBUH International Conference in Toronto, continuing a tradition of thought leadership and collaboration that spans decades.
