Yee Tak Lau Discusses Regional Collaboration at AIA Hong Kong AGM & Building Regional Practice Symposium

On October 25, the KPF Director was a featured speaker at the AIA Hong Kong AGM & Building Regional Practice Symposium, sharing her expertise on cross-border collaboration in Southeast Asian architecture.

Yee Tak participated in the panel “Context: Vietnam / Philippines / Thailand – A Showcase of Collaboration,” which highlights the importance of partnerships between clients and international as well as local architects in producing contextually appropriate and impactful projects. Moderated by Shannon Ho, 2025 Vice President of AIA Hong Kong, Yee Tak and fellow panelist Stefano Tronci (Associate Principal – Asia Pacific Sustainability Lead, SOM) focused on practical knowledge-sharing, drawing from real-world case studies and the experiences of professionals actively working across the region. Yee Tak discussed the dynamics, challenges, and opportunities inherent in regional collaboration, offering insights informed by her leadership on major projects such as WF Central in Beijing and One Bangkok in Thailand.

As a KPF regional leader in Asia, Yee Tak brings more than 20 years of experience navigating the complexities of diverse cultural, geopolitical, and environmental contexts. Her longstanding involvement with AIA Hong Kong—including prior service on its Board of Directors—underscores her commitment to advancing architectural practice and fostering meaningful partnerships. At the symposium, Yee Tak shared strategies for achieving impactful design through collaboration, emphasizing the value of local context and sustainable development in Southeast Asia’s rapidly evolving markets.
