One Madison Avenue and Citymark Tower have been announced as winners in the “Skyscraper / High Rise” category, demonstrating KPF’s expertise in tall-building design worldwide.
One Madison Avenue stands as a benchmark for adaptive reuse and sustainability in Manhattan’s Flatiron District, with a design that complements its landmark neighbor, the 5 Madison Clock Tower. The transformed building renews an existing mid-century podium and adds an elegant new tower above to provide flexible Class-A office space and over an acre of outdoor space.
Citymark Tower is a 388-meter mixed-use tower designed with a unity of form and function, redefining the way people live and work in Shenzhen. Featuring strategically stacked programs, the tower tapers to provide optimal floorplates for the different uses: offices on the lower, larger floorplates and luxury serviced apartments on the higher, smaller floorplates. A shared clubhouse amenity connects all tenants mid-tower, fostering a sense of community.
The American Architecture Awards, organized by The Chicago Athenaeum together with the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, honor cutting-edge design across 27 categories. Look back on last year’s winning projects by KPF here.
