Elie Gamburg presented a selection of KPF’s projects, highlighting the synergy between bold design, data-driven performance, and craft in shaping exceptional design and elevating human experience.
Elie Gamburg, Principal and design lead of some of KPF’s most celebrated projects, delivered a lecture to students at the University College London, The Bartlett. His presentation, “Crafting New Forms for Human Experience,” explored how combining simple, powerful formal moves with a focus on detail and craft, built around local culture and environment, can elevate people’s experiences of cities, campuses, and buildings. Building on KPF’s existing work at Covent Garden, located near the Bartlett, the talk featured a cross-section of ideas from around the world and across typologies including Atlantis The Royal, a premier hotel in Dubai; Channelside, an office and lab precinct in Boston; and NYU Shanghai, a new university in China, among others.
The lecture was followed by a roundtable discussion joined by KPF Director Samantha Cooke and Designer and Bartlett alum Yi Lu.
