Atlantis The Royal Wins Inaugural MICHELIN Hotel Architecture Award

The KPF-designed Dubai resort has been awarded the first-ever MICHELIN Guide Hotel Architecture & Design Award, recognizing its transformative approach to luxury hospitality.

Situated on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah Island, Atlantis The Royal reimagines one of the world’s most iconic hospitality brands. Completed in 2022, the hotel’s fragmented massing, sky courts, and terraces create “gardens in the sky,” offering guests unique outdoor spaces and panoramic views over the city and the Arabian Gulf. The resort’s thoughtful planning separates hotel, residential, and conference facilities while maintaining a cohesive visual identity. Intricate architectural details, including pools, gardens, lounges, and cabanas, throughout Atlantis The Royal encourage discovery and elevate every stay.

Over the course of the summer and fall of 2025, the MICHELIN Guide introduced its inaugural hotel awards program, with nominees selected by MICHELIN Inspectors across four categories: Architecture & Design, Wellness, Local Gateway, and Opening of the Year. These awards celebrate the highest standards in global hospitality and reflect the renowned taste of the MICHELIN name. Winners were announced on October 8 at a landmark event in Paris attended by hoteliers from around the world, where Atlantis The Royal received the Architecture & Design honor for its bold vision and exceptional guest experience.
