KPF Principal Hugh Trumbull and Head of BIM New York Veronica Quintero participated in ZAK World of Façades in New York, delivering a keynote lecture on façade design and joining a panel discussion about AI in architecture.
Hugh opened Session Four of the globally recognized conference with his talk “Hidden Windows: Performative Facades and Natural Ventilation,” outlining how KPF is synthesizing the growing demand for operable windows with ambitious environmental performance mandates and design excellence. His presentation highlighted KPF projects in New York and around the world, including Brooklyn Point, HONY Center, CPIC Tower, and the Lianzhou Building, among others, to demonstrate an evolving approach to natural ventilation. As Design Principal, Hugh has led projects renowned for their architectural pedigree and sustainable design approach.
Following Hugh’s presentation, Veronica discussed technology-assisted design workflows in the panel “AI for the Built Environment,” discussing façade performance analysis, coordination, and constructability. Veronica was joined in this conversation by Alfonso Oliva, Senior Manager DevRel AECO AI for NVIDIA; Dan Reynolds, AI Leader for Walter P Moore; Emir Pekdemir, Associate at Atelier Ten; and Andreas Roncal, Senior Computational Designer at HKS.
