On September 24, the KPF Principal was hosted by the Cyprus Architectural Association’s “Women in Architecture” Committee in honor of International Women in Engineering Day.
With more than three decades of global design experience, Hana is recognized for her human-centric and sustainable approach to design. Her lecture, titled “Belonging: Mind and Matter in Architecture,” explored how human-centric architecture can foster belonging, well-being, and resilience in urban environments. Drawing on a portfolio that spans the United States, Brazil, France, China, and the United Arab Emirates, Hana shared insights from projects that prioritize both environmental stewardship and the needs of diverse communities.
This event continues Hana’s commitment to advancing dialogue on resilient and inclusive design. Her previous speaking engagements include a presentation at CityScape Global 2024 in Saudi Arabia, where she contributed her perspective on climate-resilient infrastructure, the Georgia Tech School of Architecture’s first guest lecture of 2025, which focused on “Resilience and Resonance” in architecture, and a lecture at The Cooper Union in New York, which addressed the “duality of experiential perception and cultural narratives.” Through her leadership, teaching, and published work, Hana continues to shape the future of the built environment, emphasizing architecture’s role in supporting psychological well-being and creating meaningful communal connections.
