China Resources Land Celebrates KPF’s Architectural Contributions

KPF Principal Bernard Chang and Directors Florence Chan and Yee Tak Lau attended the CR Land Consultants Appreciation Ceremony, where the firm was recognized for its multiple mixed-use design collaborations with the client.

At the CRL Consultants Appreciation Ceremony, the property developer invited firms and designers such as Thomas Heatherwick, Lead 8, Ten Design, and KPF in recognition of impactful collaborations. CRL Executive Director David Zhang hosted the event, with additional speeches from design leaders at CRL, CallisonRTKL Principal Liu Xiaoguang, and GOA Founder Lu Hao.

KPF’s collaborations with CR Land began over a decade ago, resulting in multiple projects around China that span program types, often featuring an array of uses within a single development. A landmark project for the developer designed by KPF is the China Resources Tower, a 400-meter headquarter building that anchors the Houhai district. The design is distinguished by its innovative structure and geometric purity, relaying a cultural message about the company’s history and growth. In Shanghai, Embankment Square parallels the historic Hung-Pu River and includes flexible office towers connected by outdoor parks. Recently completed, the Asian Games Officials Village is a walkable neighborhood designed to prosper beyond the continental sporting event. In development, CRL Center Dongguan offers a new landmark to the city with a supertall tower and commercial center, addressing the full circle of needs of tenants, residents, and visitors through its program offerings.
