Grace Liao AIA LEED AP WELL AP
Director
Grace leads the design of complex architectural projects with a focus on contextually driven design and high-performance execution. Her portfolio includes commercial, mixed-use, residential, research, and transit-oriented developments across Asia, Canada, and the US—bringing a clear strength in shaping impactful urban environments through design excellence and strategic thinking.
Context-Driven Urbanism with Design Precision
Grace’s design integrates conceptual rigor, placemaking sensibility, and rich material expression. With a background in urban design, she approaches each project with a deep understanding of context—balancing elegant massing and expressive structure with performance-driven solutions. In Shanghai, she led the design of the CPIC Xintiandi Commercial Center, crafting a distinct identity that reinforces the tower’s presence in the city’s evolving skyline. Similarly, at Taipingqiao Lot 122, she designed a residential tower that responds to the scale and materiality of the historic Xintiandi context, integrating contemporary living with the area’s rich urban fabric.
Mixed-Use Expertise
Grace is known for her ability to deliver design-forward, commercially astute environments that serve both the client and the city. From the twin tower Lenovo Headquarters at Shenzhen Bay to Baker Circle in Hong Kong—a reimagining of civic-scaled urban living—she brings a consistent commitment to shaping memorable, human-scaled experiences. In Brooklyn, her work on Brooklyn Point combines luxury residential living with a dynamic retail base as part of the broader City Point complex. Most recently, Grace led the design of Tower 36, a mixed-use tower anchoring Miami’s Design District with bold geometry and layered façade articulation that speaks to both local culture and global ambition.
