Set in the heart of Rio de Janeiro’s waterfront district, Vista Guanabara is a dynamic office tower that emphatically marks and helps catalyze the area’s urban renewal.

Following improvements in transit infrastructure, the formerly industrial area has experienced a rebirth, with a surge of development in the past several years. The conversion of existing warehouses into a new retail center, coupled with easier access to the waterfront, has led to an increase in pedestrian traffic, creating a denser and more bustling urban environment. Vista Guanabara assumes a crucial role in this burgeoning urban environment, both as a generator of new economic activity and as an iconic presence.

The tower offers a dynamic and shifting form, with two interlocking, tilted volumes that suggest the fancy footwork of the quintessentially Brazilian pastimes of football and samba dancing. The canted rooflines and the staggered paneling of the north and south glass façades emphasize the building’s striking sense of movement.

Despite its unique shape, the building provides standard rectangular, central-core floor plates with column-free spans of 12 meters and spectacular views of the bay to the north and views of the city and mountains to the south. The building also offers a welcoming and ground-level experience, with a gracious, double-height glass lobby and retail locations for the convenience of tenants.
