Elevated Mixed-Use Design

Katsu is passionate about creating environments where design and program come together to enhance the user experience. Katsu served as Senior Designer for the Channelside project, a catalyst for the Fort Point neighborhood, comprising office, life science lab, and residential components. Also in Boston, Katsu helped lead the design of 425 Medford Street, a reimagining of the Mystic River Waterfront community with unique programming. In Shanghai, Katsu and teammates collaborated on Huamu Lot 10 – The Summit, a sustainable mixed-use project that welcomes tenants and visitors to experience nature and art in an active setting, demonstrating a new form of participatory urbanism.

Elegant Details

Across building types, Katsu brings a keen eye for detailed, “hospitality-forward” design. He played a major role in the exterior design of One Vanderbilt in New York City, where specialty walls for the lobby, atrium, and storefront balance user experience and environmental performance with an aesthetic that respects the adjacent Grand Central Terminal. In London, his work on the façade of the Park Hyatt Hotel and residences at One Nine Elms reflects the hospitality program inside with sleek vertical fins and elegant glazing details. Working on Atlantis The Royal, Katsu helped deliver the refined details that make the striking resort resonate with guests from around the world.

Katsu received his Master of Architecture degree from Yale University, where he was nominated for the Feldman Prize, the school’s most prestigious scholarship. He is a registered architect in New York and a LEED accredited professional.
