The KPF Principal participated as a featured speaker in Session 1: Smart Solutions in Vertical Urbanism at the event convened by the Hong Kong chapter of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
Addressing “The Future of Vertical Urbanism,” the November 21 event focused on smart and carbon-neutral solutions in dense urban design and high-rise architecture. Forth joined industry leaders in Session 1 to deliver a joint presentation on the KPF-designed West Bund Central mixed-use district in Shanghai alongside Janet Chan, General Manager at Hongkong Land. Fellow Participants in Session 1 included Keith Griffiths, Founder and Chairman at Aedas, and MK Leung, Director of Sustainable Design at Ronal Lu & Partners (RLP).
Forth’s design approach centers on creating program-rich environments that foster vibrant, resilient communities. Drawing on his experience leading impactful urban projects—including the ongoing development of Landmark Hong Kong and the Victoria Dockside district, as well as the East Bank in Nashville and Utah City in Utah—Forth discussed how innovative planning and design strategies can address the challenges of density, connectivity, and sustainability in rapidly evolving cities. The conference will also feature a morning tour, led by KPF Associate Principal Ringo Tse, of One Causeway Bay, a newly completed office tower designed by KPF and RLP, offering attendees a firsthand look at the next generation of vertical developments.
