Florence Chan Presents Guangzhou One Pengrui at DAF Shenzhen

The KPF Principal joined leading voices in Asia’s AEC industry as a featured speaker at the Shenzhen DAF Building Skin Conference, held September 19–20 at the Westin Hotel Shenzhen.

The DAF Building Skin Conference convenes renowned professionals to share advancements in sustainable building practices as well as broader trends and advancements in curtain wall technology. Hosted in Shenzhen, the event focuses on architectural design, engineering, and construction, offering in-depth case studies and fostering dialogue on the future of building envelopes. Attendees have the opportunity to engage with innovative projects and network with professionals committed to advancing sustainable urban environments.

Florence presented phase one of the KPF-designed Guangzhou One Pengrui, a mixed-use community that integrates residential, commercial, and cultural facilities into the existing urban fabric. Inspired by the Pearl River, the project’s design features a cluster of resilient towers that descend in height toward the water, each optimized for landscape views and climate responsiveness. Florence shared the design concept and curtain wall strategies that define the project, illustrating how the building skin enhances both the project’s programmatic and environmental performance.
