The KPF Principal shared her view on emerging professional trends and the role of the architect in a rapidly changing world at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) global event, held online on October 8.
Florence joined the Hong Kong & Asia session on “New Work Types,” alongside Andrew Mead (Meada Design), Pearl Chee (WOHA), and Dr Chuan Wang & Dr Yinan Dong (Southeast University) to discuss applications for the practice of architecture in a new economic landscape. The session was introduced by Dennis Ho, Chair of the RIBA Hong Kong Chapter, with a keynote by Peter Brannan (Arquitectonica). Florence has played a crucial role in expanding KPF’s reach across China and Asia, serving as Director of both the Hong Kong and Shenzhen offices. Her technical expertise spans large-scale, complex projects such as the CTF Finance Centre and HKUST (GZ), and she is recognized for her collaborative approach and commitment to designing for the public realm.
The RIBA Future Business of Architecture Global Conference was a full-day event, running from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM BST, that convened leading voices in architecture to address the profession’s evolving landscape. The conference explored topics such as practice viability, the impact of artificial intelligence, environmental and social change, and potential future sources of work. Sponsored by Autodesk, the conference offered a platform for architects to exchange ideas, explore emerging trends, and gain actionable insights for business planning and strategy.
