“Decarbonizing Design for our Future” featured industry experts in designing sustainable, energy-efficient buildings. Florence presented Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s new Guangzhou campus, which opened last fall, highlighting the emphasis on resilience at the core of its design, setting a standard for 21st century academic campuses.
Florence was joined by design leaders from NBBJ, SOM, and representatives from the Greater Bay Area Carbon Neutrality Association, Nan Fung Development, and Swire Properties. The group shared insights into how their practices embrace sustainable approaches to decarbonize the built environment, exchanging ideas and strategies for a greener future, with particular focus on China’s Greater Bay Area.
