On May 16, the KPF Director discussed the Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami on a panel dedicated to the project’s contextually inspired, yet technologically advanced, façade design.
Daniel’s panel, titled “Designing in Context: Local Approaches with a Global Perspective” explored how the resort-style development on Brickell Key takes its cues from the surrounding fabric of Miami Beach, while coalescing around the global brand identity of Mandarin Oriental. Daniel was joined on the panel by Norman Xu, Director of Design and Development at Swire Properties USA. Lisa Rammig, Director at Eckersley O’Callaghan, moderated the discussion.
The Zak World of Facades conference series focuses on façade design and engineering, welcoming global design professionals to share their work on the world’s premiere building façades. The event took place at the current Mandarin Oriental, Miami, which occupies the site adjacent to—and will be replaced by—the KPF-designed project.
