Atlantis The Royal is an Icon for the Middle East, Writes Architectural Digest

The KPF-designed hotel and resort is named among the 10 best new buildings in the Middle East, where its ability to capture attention and intrigue earned the building “icon” status.

In their 2024 WOW Middle East list, the publication shares designs that have reimagined the region’s skyline. The article introduces Atlantis The Royal, “What makes a hotel an icon? Its ability to completely capture our attention and intrigue us all at once. And that is exactly what this Dubai resort’s architecture does so well.”

The building’s form began as a deconstruction of the architectural language of neighboring Atlantis The Palm: two towers connected by a sky bridge. At half a kilometer longer, Atlantis The Royal is comprised of a series of stacked blocks that allow for views through the building to the Dubai Skyline or Gulf. The two sides step down in form and are connected through a skybridge, which houses an infinity pool and bar.
