Jens Hardvendel
A multi-skilled project manager and technical detailer, Jens combines his experience on large-scale projects with his technical undertakings and believes that even the most complex functional buildings should be designed to be pleasing to the eye.
Jens has over 30 years of experience in commercial, transport, and residential schemes across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, encompassing aviation, commercial, residential, and civic structures. He enjoys developing sustainable solutions and seeks opportunities to optimize the constructability and use of environmentally friendly materials.
Jens utilized his problem-solving abilities at Terminal A at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The project placed sustainability at the forefront during the design, construction, and workings of the terminal. In addition to recycled materials, the use of regionally sourced materials has cut down on carbon emissions significantly.
Jens’ approach to design is driven by how a scheme can best offer value to the client, benefit its environment, and improve the experience of its users. At Window La Défense, Jens was Project Director in the transformation of an office building that recycled the existing base and introduced a cladding system that created a lively presence along the Esplanade de La Défense.
Jens has been engaged in several large-scale complex projects, leading design teams and liaising with clients and consultants on a day-to-day basis to ensure the smooth delivery of projects from concept to completion.
Jens is fluent in English, Danish, and German and is a member of the Academic Architect Association of Denmark (MAA) as well as ARB and RIBA in the UK.
