Three KPF Projects Win Excellence in Engineering Awards

NYU Shanghai, Pukai Zhangiabang, and Qingdao Financial City are recognized in the 2025 Shanghai Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Awards.

NYU Shanghai, designed in collaboration with SIADR, is a university campus that combines programmatic density with interdisciplinary integration and cultural exchange, celebrating and reinforcing connections and spaces. Campus building masses are stacked vertically to distribute programs and create layered spaces for teaching, research, cultural activities, and faculty offices.

Pukai Zhangjiabang, designed in collaboration with TJAD, is a new urban district in the growing urban developments of Jingqiao, Shanghai.  The project layers mixed-use programming, plentiful green space, and a pedestrian focused streetscape. Tower facades are optimized to reduce peak solar gain through the use of external sun-shading fins.

Qingdao Financial City, designed in collaboration with ECADI, is a set of mixed-use twin towers at the core of the Jinjialing new financial area. The regional and cultural landmark consists of Class-A office space and luxury five-star hotels. The tower’s strategic design and massing reduces wind loads and increases the building’s overall structural stability. Mechanical floors are discreetely integrated between blocks, enabling efficient ventilation.

Each development underscores KPF’s commitment to elevating cities through impactful design, across a variety of typologies, contexts, and regions.
