In addition to these category winners, KPF-designed buildings picked up a total of nine CTBUH Awards of Excellence at the conference, demonstrating KPF’s industry-leading design around the globe.
At the “Tall Excellence: Seeking the Ideal in Vertical Urbanism” conference in Chicago, all CTBUH Award of Excellence winners were invited to present to conference delegates and judges, before overall category winners were announced.
One Vanderbilt and One Crown Place were honored as the category winners for Best Tall Building 400 Meters+ and Best Tall Building Europe, respectively, and multiple KPF projects received Awards of Excellence in the 2022 program.
The skyline defining One Vanderbilt, in New York, won Awards of Excellence in the Best Tall Best Tall Office Building category and was named overall winner in the Best Tall Building 400m+ Category. One Crown Place, a mixed-use scheme in London, won Awards of Excellence in Best Tall Mixed-Use Building and the Best Tall Building 100-199m categories, before being named ‘Best Tall Building Europe’. Sequis Tower, one of Indonesia’s first LEED Platinum buildings, won an Award of Excellence in the Best Tall Office Building Category.
In the specialist categories, four KPF projects received Awards of Excellence, with 18 Robinson as the Geotechnical Engineering category winner and One Vanderbilt as the audience winner in the same category. 30 Hudson Yards was honored in the Structural Engineering category and Dabaihui Plaza was honored with a Life Safety Design Award. Multiple KPF Principals attended the conference in Chicago to present on the honored projects and serve on panel juries.
