KPF Unveils Design for Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley Resort and Residences

Forbes Travel Guide has revealed KPF’s design in an exclusive on the Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley Resort and Residences, a ski-in, ski-out luxury hotel set to open in 2028 in Park City, Utah.

Located within the greater Mayflower Mountain Resort, the five-star hotel and condominium complex will sit directly on the slopes alongside the 4.8-mile Green Monster, Deer Valley’s longest run. KPF’s design prioritizes unobstructed views of Bald Mountain, Hail Peak, and Park Peak and features a striking architectural centerpiece: a pool cantilevered over the slope, allowing swimmers to watch skiers pass below. The project will comprise approximately 132 hotel accommodations and 105 private residences, split between 56 units integrated above the hotel and 49 units in a standalone condominium tower.

The resort will offer comprehensive amenities and extensive wellness facilities featuring a 15,000-square-foot spa with thermal features and a snow room, an indoor lap pool, and fitness centers. As part of Extell Development Company’s $5 billion multi-phased Deer Valley East Village—the first major public ski resort to be built in North America in more than 40 years—the Waldorf Astoria will join seven other hotels in creating a fully integrated luxury village.
