Principal Claudia Cusumano and Senior Environmental Performance Specialist Erin Heidelberger presented the KPF-designed University of Michigan Center for Innovation at the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) conference.
Claudia and Erin were joined by Lutalo Sinafu, the Director of Community Engagement at the University of Michigan Center for Innovation, to present “From Campus to Community: Building a Center for Inclusive Innovation in Detroit.” The collaborators spoke about how the KPF-designed University of Michigan Center for Innovation leverages its programming, design, and sustainability strategy to spark a district-wide revival. The collaboration translated community engagement and environmental stewardship into a visionary environment for growing the STEM pipeline, supporting local entrepreneurship, and facilitating access to education in downtown Detroit.
