KPF Hosts 2025 AIA UK Student Charrette

Part I architecture students were invited to KPF’s London studio for the annual AIA UK Student Charrette, a one-day, analogue design competition.

Teams of students responded to a design brief, set at Strand Aldwych, London, developing and testing their design and representational skills through sketching, model-making, and creative problem solving.

Throughout the day, students were mentored by a group of industry experts and practising architects at KPF including Senior Associate Principal Alex Miller and Designer Yao Mi. Teams presented to a jury, for a review led by a panel of professionals and academics including Sam Cooke, Director at KPF; Stephen Drew, Founder of Architecture Social; and Michelle Ludik, Associate Director at ADAM Architecture. Anna Mytcul, Visualisation Specialist at KPF also, supported the organisation of the event.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the AIA UK Student Charrette brought together second- and third-year students from RIBA-accredited Part I architecture courses across the UK for a day of collaborative, hands-on design. All participating students received a complimentary one-year membership to the AIA UK chapter.
