Jeffrey Kenoff Joins Board of Council on Vertical Urbanism, New York City Chapter

The KPF Principal has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the New York City chapter of the Council on Vertical Urbanism (CVU), previously CTBUH.

“As cities shift away from being defined by iconography and toward how effectively they contribute to urban life, CVU’s role in shaping that understanding has been essential to advancing the performance and connectivity of our urban environments,” says Jeff Kenoff, FAIA, KPF Principal. “At KPF, we look forward to continuing to support the research and collaborations that continue to move our cities forward.”

New York City hosts one of the most active CVU chapters globally and serves as a nexus for innovation and sustainability advancement in tall building design and urban development. Jeff’s appointment recognizes his prominent voice in the evolving discourse of architecture and urbanism, where he has advanced a design methodology that synthesizes vertical density with urban connectivity. His international portfolio of mixed-use projects—including One Vanderbilt in New York and Huamu Lot 10 – The Summit in Shanghai—exemplifies how technological innovation, placemaking, and architectural detailing can be harnessed to shape more livable and vibrant urban environments.

Jeff has been a longtime contributor to CVU’s scholarly discourse, having co-authored research papers published in both Vertical Urbanism magazine and The International Journal of High-Rise Buildings, including “Towards an Urban Troposphere” with Peter Gross, and more recently “Advanced Computational Modeling and Data-Driven Design” with KPF Head of Design Technology Luc Wilson, which examine the evolution of tall building design and the critical role of the vertical surface in shaping contemporary urban environments.
