Javier Roig Presented KAFD Central Hub at the 2025 WAF Awards

The KPF Director presented the mixed-use development—shortlisted in the “Future Projects: Commercial Mixed-Use category”—at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Miami.

Located at the heart of the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Central Hub demonstrates KPF’s commitment to characterful placemaking and celebrates the craft of construction.

The defining feature of the Central Hub is a continuous, ribbon-like canopy that guides circulation, improves thermal comfort, and provides a clear sense of identity. The scheme reaches beyond its boundaries, strengthening connections across the city and inviting both locals and visitors to a destination that emphasizes social connection and a balance of indoor and outdoor spaces.

WAF is the largest global live awards event for architects and designers, which took place from November 12 –14. Since 2008, the festival has brought together the global architecture community in cities around the world. See the full list of shortlisted projects here.

Javier presented to the jury at 2:00 PM on November 13.
