On October 26, the KPF Director joined “Resilience of the Cities of the Future,” a panel about how the way we design, build, and finance cities is adapting to the growing risks of climate change.
At Fidelidade’s FidExperience Entrecampos in Lisbon, Javier joined Miguel Santana, Fidelidade Property Administrator, and Andreas Michelsen, Head of Sustainability at Gehl, for the conversation. The panel examined how architecture, engineering, and urban planning are responding to climate change’s growing impact on cities, with Javier offering an architect’s perspective on designing more resilient, safe, and inclusive urban environments. KPF is currently working with Fidelidade Property Europe on a six-building development, Entrecampos, that will provide a new destination of future-ready offices and retail in Lisbon. Other work in Lisbon includes Oriente Green Campus, a mixed-use campus of tech offices and an international university, which opened in 2025 and became the city’s first LEED Platinum building.
