Hugh Trumbull Shares His Perspective on Designs that Define America

Featured in a list compiled by Fast Company, the KPF Principal named the 1964 Ford Mustang as one of the objects that define American design.

In honor of the United States’ 250th anniversary, Fast Company invited more than 30 leaders from across the design industry to explore the quintessential objects, ideas, and images that culturally define America. Hugh pointed to the 1964 Ford Mustang as a design that has uniquely shaped American culture and identity.

Hugh noted that “The ’64 Mustang is a great car that really proved itself—it’s long-lasting, fun, and athletic. The car is also easy to work on by an owner, for those Americans with a ‘do it yourself’ mentality. The design is still super cool and inspiring to the current industry.”
