Hana Kassem and Claudia Cusumano Participate in the SCUP North Central 2025 Regional Conference in Detroit

The KPF Principals helped lead the “Future-ready Detroit” tour on the first day of the conference, presenting on the University of Michigan Center for Innovation and visiting the local construction site.

The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) North Central Regional Conference began in Detroit on September 29, with the theme “Education as an Engine: Colleges & Universities Driving Economic & Social Growth.” Hana opened the program with a 15-minute presentation at the tour’s Michigan Central Detroit stop, sharing insights into the KPF-designed UM Center for Innovation and its role in advancing Detroit’s urban revitalization and workforce development. After the presentation, attendees traveled by bus to the construction site for a closer look at the project’s progress.

Claudia joined the tour, bringing her perspective as Project Manager for the Center for Innovation and extensive experience with academic design. Hana and Claudia’s participation underscored KPF’s commitment to designing high-performance spaces that empower institutions and enrich communities. The SCUP North Central 2025 Regional Conference continues for two more days, featuring additional sessions and tours focused on university-led projects and the future of higher education in Detroit.
