An exclusive article explores how KPF wrapped the Shenzhen skyscraper in outdoor space, blurring the boundaries between indoors and out.
TP-LINK LXD, a technology office complex in Shenzhen, China, is designed for connection. The project’s signature gesture is a spiraling, landscaped ribbon—over a kilometer long—that winds around its three towers, which comprise workplace as well as dormitory program. The ribbon combines circulation, meeting areas, gardens, and even a basketball court and transforms every level of the tower into a ground floor.
“Within a dense urban site, where open space is typically lost, the project restores it as elevated, continuous, and accessible from every level,” KPF Principal Marianne Kwok told Dezeen.
Inspired by Shenzhen’s culture of rapid innovation and collective energy, TP-LINK LXD proposes a new model for the workplace—one where health, collaboration, and landscape are not amenities, but are the organizing principles of the building itself.
