Archtober Hosts Tour of One Madison Avenue

On October 25th, Director Annie Savage and Senior Associate Principal Andrew Werner led an in-person tour of the repositioning project as part of Archtober’s Building of the Day series.

Part of AIA NY’s Archtober festival of architecture, the Building of the Day series opens to the public prominent buildings throughout the city for tours led by the architect. Annie and Andrew guided the group through the recently topped-out One Madison Avenue, a project that transforms a mid-century podium and adds an 18-story tower to create new Class-A office space. The tour showcased both the updated podium and the new tower, providing insight into how the team retained 67% of the original building’s structure. The tour took place on October 25th from 12 to 1pm. Register for the event here, and learn more about KPF’s approach to adaptive reuse work here.

In addition to in-person guided tours, Archtober also offers in-depth features and self-guided tours in the Bloomberg Connects App. Whether you are an architectural historian, a design enthusiast, or a student, the Archtober Guide is designed to help you explore notable contemporary and historical sites across New York City’s five boroughs. KPF projects in the guide include a narrated overview of One Vanderbilt by KPF President and Design Principal James von Klemperer. Download the free Bloomberg Connects app here.

Archtober is a month-long festival in October, created to celebrate New York’s architecture and design through activities, programs, and exhibitions. 2023 marks KPF’s 5th year participating in the event.
