Xiong Yi
Xiong Yi brings a global background to his role as a Director at KPF, echoed by his experience working in many of the firm’s offices. After joining the Shanghai office in 2006, he has since spent time in New York and Hong Kong for extended periods. During his more than 15 years as a technical manager, he has been involved in the development of hotel, office, and mixed-use projects along with skyline-altering supertall towers. Throughout his projects, Yi works as a liaison, coordinating between clients, consultant teams, and KPF designers to ensure efficiently and richly crafted buildings.
Developing his technical expertise on complex and large-scale projects, Yi has a portfolio of multi-building urban plans that cater to the pedestrian scale through thoughtful attention to form and façade treatment. With many of the buildings certified LEED Gold, the Greenland Bund Centre has served as a reference for green neighborhoods in rapidly expanding cities. As the Technical Coordinator, Yi guided the core design work of the development’s tallest tower.
Yi is well-versed in hospitality coordination and design, contributing to many high-rise buildings and supertalls with hotel components. Blending his two focuses, the CTF Finance Centre is one of China’s tallest towers and houses the Rosewood Guangzhou on its highest floors. He also contributed his expertise to the curtain wall systems of the Park Hyatt Hangzhou and the Langham & Andaz Xintiandi.
