The KPF Principal shared insights into the next generation of high-rise architecture at the regional Council on Tall Buildings and the Urban Habitat (CTBUH) conference on July 10 in Jakarta.
Organized by CTBUH, the conference—titled “Building Resilient Urban Futures: Innovations in Tall Building Design”—convened leading architects, engineers, urban planners, and policymakers to explore the future of vertical urbanism in Indonesia and surrounding areas. Rob joined the panel “Urban Sustainability & Innovations” alongside Woerjantari Soedarsono of the Bandung Institute of Technology; Colin Ward, Senior Partner at Foster + Partners; Archica Danisworo, Design Director at PDW Architects; Aditya Kothari, General Manager at 3AComposites / Alucobond; and Giovanni Viganò, Director at Whitby Wood Mills.
Drawing on his decades of experience designing landmark tall buildings throughout East and Southeast Asia, Rob offered insights into the future of resilient and innovative high-rise architecture. His portfolio includes transformative projects such as Autograph Tower in Jakarta, CPIC Xintiandi Commercial Center in Shanghai, and the iconic CITIC Tower, also in Shanghai. As part of the conference, attendees were invited on a guided tour of Autograph Tower, celebrating its status as the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere.
KPF’s ongoing relationship with CTBUH reflects a shared commitment to advancing tall building design and fostering global dialogue on best practices in urban development.
