One North Quay Tops Out at Canary Wharf

KPF’s design for the UK’s first purpose-built vertical science, technology, and innovation campus has reached its full 23-storey height.

One North Quay topping out marks a significant milestone in the delivery of a new model for science and technology workspace in London. Developed by CWG and Kadans Science Partner, the 570,000-square-foot building is designed to bring research, workplace, and shared amenity spaces together within a highly flexible vertical campus.

KPF’s design responds to the evolving needs of science and technology organizations, with adaptable floorplates and infrastructure that allow different uses to be accommodated over time. By enabling businesses to expand within the building as they grow, the vertical campus model supports long-term flexibility while creating opportunities for interaction between its occupants.

The building is organized around 30,000 square feet of shared amenity space, including a rooftop terrace, lounge, boardroom, café, and library. These communal spaces extend the workplace beyond individual floors, encouraging exchange and creating a greater sense of community throughout the building.

“One North Quay is emerging as a building that brings people together, supports Canary Wharf’s evolution as an innovation district and shows that contemporary lab and tech workspace can be both sustainable and beautifully crafted. Its vibrant ceramic façades will create a warmer, more human-scaled model for innovation-led design,” said KPF Principal Elie Gamburg.

Fully electric and targeting EPC A and BREEAM Outstanding, One North Quay is expected to complete in early 2028.
