KPF attendees contributed a seminar, tour, info session, and celebrated both a newly licensed architect and an award win at the annual event hosted by NOMA’s Baltimore chapter.
On Thursday, October 24, KPF Global Diversity Officer Kavitha Mathew led a seminar on the NY NOMA chapter’s OnSite Program she recently cofounded with Ijeoma Iheanacho of Urbahn Architects. The session explored OnSite’s goal to help underrepresented licensure candidates gain credits in the Construction + Evaluation AXP area, achieved by providing access to live construction sites and their overseeing architects. The inaugural tour was hosted by KPF at One Madison Avenue only a year ago.
At the newly licensed architect pinning ceremony, held on Friday October 25, KPF’s Isabella Joseph was one of approximately 40 honorees. Meanwhile, KPF Principal Jeff Kenoff and Director Greg Mell led a tour of the T. Rowe Price Headquarters building, a KPF project that reinvigorates Baltimore’s waterfront district and features a pedestrian-friendly design. The development was honored with the Phil Freelon Professional Design award later that evening.
On Saturday October 26, KPF’s Darien Carr, Daniel Akinsulire, Iyatunde Majekodunmi, and Isabella Joseph volunteered to meet with students and professionals at the NOMA Grad Fair and Expo. They explained KPF’s mission and shared their professional and personal experiences in the industry, providing advice to those entering the architectural workforce.
Throughout the event KPF attendees participated in educational seminars, tours, and discussions, engaging in NOMA’s discourse of highlighting achievements and expanding opportunities for architects from underrepresented groups.
