AIA Chicago
With 30 years of professional experience in architecture and urban design, Jeff has worked on projects of all scales from the global east to the global west. His work on landmark projects such as One Vanderbilt informed his service on the AIA Chicago jury for large-scale excellence in design. The jury was tasked with not only unanimously granting the highest possible honor, the Honor Award, but also distributing as many Citation of Merit awards as they agreed were warranted.
AIA Chicago, the second largest local chapter of The American Institute of Architects, is the collective voice of over 4,000 licensed architects, emerging professionals, architecture students, and allied professionals. Finalists for the Design Excellence Awards were decided in August, with recipients announced at Designight 2024, honoring Chicago architects’ global design achievements. The event was held at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park on Thursday, September 5 at 4:30pm CST, followed by an after party. See the full list of winners here.
AIA Springfield
With nearly three decades of experience leading projects globally and domestically, Hana’s architectural approach of human-centric design brought a highly valuable perspective to the 2024 Central States Excellence in Design Awards jury. She aims, through her work, to elevate well-being, individually and communally, by creating enriching and equitable spaces that are sensitive to societal needs. In the increasingly urban environment of the central US, Hana’s socially conscious design values are particularly pertinent to local development.
