KPF Hosts ULI NEXT Roundtable on Midtown South Mixed Use Plan

KPF welcomed the Urban Land Institute (ULI) New York’s NEXT group for a roundtable discussion on the Midtown South Mixed Use plan, organized by KPF Senior Associate Principal Georgina Lalli, who was recently named Co-Chair of the program.

Held at KPF’s New York office on November 13, the event convened ULI NEXT members and industry leaders to discuss the transformative potential of the Midtown South Mixed Use rezoning. Adopted by City Council on August 14, 2025, the rezoning effort concentrates on centrally located areas where new housing was not permitted under half century-old zoning regulations. The new plan is intended to expand housing opportunities, bolster economic activity, and enliven the public realm to foster vibrant 24/7 neighborhoods in the heart of Manhattan.

Marty Burger of Infinite Global, former CEO of Silverstein Properties, headlined the roundtable, sharing details about his recent addition of a 12-floor building at 35th Street and Fifth Avenue. Other experts from legal and policy fields—including Zach Redding of Colliers New York Capital Markets and Adam Taubman of Herbert Smith Freehills Krameraddressed the broader civic context for the rezoning. The discussion was organized by Georgina, who was recently appointed 2026 Executive Co-Chair of ULI NEXT New York, following her tenure as Executive Vice Chair in 2025. ULI NEXT is dedicated to advancing mid-career professionals in real estate through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and leadership development.
