KPF-Designed Tower Urban Oasis Approved by TCC Board

The Taiwan Cement Company (TCC)’s Board of Directors has formally approved the budget for the landmark sustainable development in Taipei, Taiwan.

Located in Taipei’s Xinyi District, Tower Urban Oasis (TUO) comprises three state-of-the-art headquarter towers—including one for TCC itself—and blends modern architectural design with inspiration from Taiwan’s mountainous landscape. Bringing a fresh urban presence to Taipei, the office towers’ cascading terraces surround a lush courtyard, with numerous planted balconies and outdoor breakout spaces.

KPF’s sustainability expertise and advanced modeling underpin an environmental performance approach for the project that enables a decarbonized future, accommodates future climate, and centers occupant wellbeing. The integration of expansive vertical greenery helps regulate the urban microclimate while cooling interior spaces and reducing air conditioning energy consumption. TUO makes extensive use of TCC’s internally-developed Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) and low-carbon materials throughout the structure, and is targeting quadruple certifications: LEED and WELL Platinum alongside Taiwan’s highest-tier EEWH and Intelligent Building Diamond.

TCC is one of Asia’s most progressive environmental engineering companies. The proposal has now been submitted to the Taipei City Government’s Urban Design Review Committee, with completion for the project targeted for 2031.
