John Bushell Discusses the Future of Biophilia at Clerkenwell Design Week 2026

The KPF Principal brought his expertise to the panel “Beyond Biophilia: The Next Phase of Nature-Integrated Design,” part of the Design Dialogues series hosted by Design Milk.

Moving past decorative greenery toward measurable wellbeing, biodiversity, and climate impact.  This talk looked at how nature-integrated design is evolving into a more rigorous and measurable practice, focusing on health outcomes and neuroarchitectural benefits. It also explored regenerative landscapes, habitat creation, and how designers can balance resilience, performance, and environmental impact in meaningful ways.

The talk was chaired by Hannah Feniak, Managing Editor of Architizer and John was joined by Sarah Dabbs of SpaceInvader and Oliver Heath of Oliver Heath Design Studio to discuss the topic further, exploring habitat creation, regenerative landscapes and neuroarchitectural benefits.
