What makes a project the Best of the Best? The KPF Principal spoke with Architecture MasterPrize about reimagining the tower typology to connect commerce, culture, and civic life at Huamu Lot 10 – The Summit, following the project’s win at the 2025 Architecture MasterPrize Awards.
“What was once an underutilized riverfront site is now an active civic space,” Jeff noted to Architecture MasterPrize. “The plaza, museum connection, and permeability of the development have created a lively public environment, and seeing people genuinely use and inhabit those spaces is incredibly rewarding.”
That ambition to foster connection drove the project’s most distinctive architectural move—the sky galleries—which Jeff points to as the project’s most salient feature. “Placing a shared, cultural space at mid-height rather than at the crown of the towers flips expectations and introduces a new way of thinking about cultural space in tall buildings,” he explains. “They define the project and the adjacent museum while reinforcing the idea that vertical urbanism should actively participate in public and cultural life.”
Huamu Lot 10 won “Best-of-the-Best” in the High-Rise category at the 2025 Architecture MasterPrize Awards. It was one of seven KPF projects to be named winners in the prestigious global awards program. Architecture MasterPrize recognizes outstanding work across architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, product design, and architectural photography.
