The KPF Director will moderate a panel of leading architects and designers, exploring how the built environment can respond to the evolving needs of people and communities.
The panel “The Human-Centered City: Designing Places Around Wellbeing, Mobility and Inclusion,” will explore what human-centered design means at both building and neighborhood scale, and how the industry can balance increasing urban density with quality of life.
Drawing on KPF’s experience designing buildings and urban districts around the world, Francesco will guide the conversation across topics central to contemporary city-making: from density and mixed use to walkability, public realm, and the spaces between buildings. The panel will also consider how designers can create a stronger sense of belonging, design with rather than simply for communities, and retain meaningful influence amid the competing pressures shaping cities.
Francesco will be joined by Frederik Fasola of Maccreanor Lavington; Giulia Sonzogno of AHMM; Andrew McMullan of Perkins&Will; Kit Bullas of John McAslan + Partners; Mari Samuelsen of Fletcher Priest Architects, and Nicola Rutt of StudioMULTI.
