The 50-story waterfront tower is set to rise above Biscayne Bay in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood, with a projected opening in 2030.
The feature in Forbes Travel Guide highlights KPF’s ambitious design for the Anantara Miami, which balances the cosmopolitan energy of its surroundings with subtle cultural references to the brand’s Thai heritage. Positioned at the intersection of Miami’s Edgewater, Design District, and Wynwood neighborhoods, the 920,000-square-foot building comprises of 50 hotel suites, 100 branded condominium residences, and 120 resort residences rising from a podium of state-of-the-art wellness amenities, retail spaces, and premium dining.
The building’s façade is a nod to its South Florida locale; layered aluminum panels convey a wave-like sense of motion, while dual-toned metal fins with a warm copper interior and a silver exterior draw inspiration from palm tree bark. Extensive terraces, detailed with light bronze soffit accents provide tenants with enhanced views and a direct connection to their surroundings. The podium departs from the strict, angled corners of nearby buildings with a cut away at the northwest corner, revealing a motor court arrival with entrance to both lobbies. The project is a joint effort between Bangkok-based Minor Hotels—Anantara’s parent company—and Miami developers One Thousand Group. KPF’s work on the project reflects the firm’s expanding presence in Miami and its deep experience designing landmark towers globally.
