On October 16, the KPF Director participated in a “pop-up salon” at the annual CADE Expo entitled “20 Questions About Curtain Walls” alongside Yu Hui, Executive Director of AFA Architectural Design Consulting (Shanghai).
Florence contributed to a discussion on the constantly changing technology that impacts curtain wall design, an important architectural element that determines everything from the visual typology to the environmental performance of a building facade. Her experience with façade design, generated from her work on the CTF Finance Centre, the Ping An Finance Centre, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and more, informed her additions to the conversation.
The pop-up salon was formatted around 20 common questions about curtain wall design and aimed at furthering the global understanding of relevant technologies and principles. The audience gained insight into this aspect of architecture and engineering and engaged in discussion with the speakers and material vendors present at the event.
