Dezeen Looks Ahead at Upcoming Skyscrapers Waterline and Tower 36

In a roundup of tall buildings in progress across the United States, the outlet features KPF designs in Texas and Miami, with upcoming completion dates and recent milestone celebrations.

Looking at projects in various stages of development across the country, Dezeen’s inclusion of Waterline in Austin highlights the project’s mixed-use program and superlative height as Texas’s tallest tower upon completion in 2026. The tower rises 1,022 feet and houses retail, office, residential, and hospitality programming across 74 stories. The podium conforms to the bend of Waller Creek with a gentle curve of the western elevation and integrates public walkways from the adjacent park.

Recently receiving unanimous approval in Miami, Tower 36 rises 635 feet above the Design District. Also recognized for its height as the tallest office building in the neighborhood, the piece notes the tower’s detailing and tapered form. The project sets the bar for the new era of highly amenitized, ultra-luxury Class-A office towers driven by occupant wellness, integrated landscaping, and access to outdoor space.
