Carlos Cerezo Davila Named Rising Professional in Inaugural Architectural Record Awards

In addition to KPF’s Global Director of Sustainability, the award program’s initial crop of honorees included Thomas Phifer, who was named Architect of RECORD, and Caitlin Mueller, Innovator of the Year.

The editors of Architectural Record announced winners of the magazine’s first-annual Architectural Record Awards program on September 26. KPF’s Global Director of Sustainability, Carlos Cerezo Davila, was named Rising Professional in recognition of the impact he is making on professional practice. Thomas Phifer was named the first Architect of RECORD, celebrating a lifetime of achievement in the profession and exceptional projects. Caitlin Mueller, an associate professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was named Innovator of the Year, in recognition of her outstanding research contributions to the built environment that push disciplinary boundaries.

The award is a recognition not only of Carlos’s individual contributions to sustainable design practice, but KPF’s unique position to put powerful ideas into practice at an impactful scale. The awardees were recognized at Architectural Record’s Innovation Conference on October 30.
