Carlos Cerezo Davila Moderates “Built to Last” Panel on Sustainable Design

On July 22, the KPF Global Director of Sustainability served as moderator for the “Built to Last” panel co-hosted by Ferreira de Sá Rugs and ICG Italia.

The event convened diverse voices from architecture and design to examine how materials, responsibility, and longevity intersect in today’s interiors, products, and cities. Hosted at the ICG Gallery in New York, the panel featured experts from MAWD | March and White Design, Studio Antony Cestra, Spacesmith, and Perkins Eastman. Together, they discussed strategies for rethinking design at all scales through the lens of material sustainability, with a focus on creating enduring spaces.

As moderator, Carlos guided the conversation, drawing on his experience advancing sustainable design principles in KPF’s architectural projects to further the panelist’s thinking on the dynamic between eco-responsibility and design excellence. The discussion addressed cooperative methods to aid sustainability efforts, differing regional policies, and tools for judging both environmental impact and design quality.

The event reflected KPF’s ongoing commitment to responsible design and innovation, offering attendees the opportunity to engage with thought leaders and explore actionable approaches to shaping environments that stand the test of time.
