Since 2010, the organization has influenced over 100 laws and regulations and convened over 450 stakeholder groups to inform the city’s approach to building performance.
An internationally recognized building scientist and sustainable design authority, Carlos has spent his career at the intersection of research, design, and advocacy, and brings a depth of expertise in sustainable design, policy, and practice. In addition to leading KPF’s Environmental Performance team, he serves on the New York City Energy Conservation Code Advisory Committee, contributes to the AIA New York Committee on the Environment’s Decarbonization subcommittee, and is involved with the Urban Land Institute. His election to the board reflects KPF’s ongoing commitment to shaping the policies and practices that will define the future of sustainable design.
