Andrew Werner Presents One Madison Avenue at NYLON Retrofit Webinar

The KPF Senior Associate Principal presented the recently opened adaptive reuse project as a case study at the NYLON event, co-organized by the AIANY Global Dialogues Committee and New London Architecture (NLA).

On July 23, Andrew joined a distinguished panel for “NYLON: Tower Retrofits and Approaches to Reuse in London and New York.” This virtual event brought together experts from both cities to discuss the adaptive reuse of tall buildings. Andrew presented the transformation of One Madison Avenue, a leading example of how ambitious retrofits can revitalize urban areas, reduce embodied carbon, and help achieve sustainability goals. The session explored policy, planning, and best practices for tower retrofits, highlighting the benefits and barriers of adaptive reuse in dense urban environments.

Andrew was joined by James P. Colgate, Esquire, AIA, Partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner and member of the NYC Office Adaptive Reuse Task Force, and Luke Kelly, Project Director at British Land, who presented Broadgate Tower in London as a case study. The event concluded with a panel discussion and Q&A, offering insights into how cities can repurpose existing buildings to meet future needs.
