KPF President and Design Principal James von Klemperer spoke at this year’s Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) annual conference, themed ‘The Future City: Addressing Carbon, Climate, and Societal Crises.’ Over Zoom, James presented ‘Towards a Low Carbon Tall Building’ to the attendees in Hong Kong. The conference was held in cities across the globe over the course of one week, kicking off November 8th, with Hong Kong’s sessions taking place in the KPF-designed International Commerce Centre.

Breaking down the varying components, programs, and materials, James highlighted several sustainable KPF projects, including completed towers such as One Vanderbilt, 18 Robinson, and Lotte World Tower, to projects still in development: the Chengdu Tianfu Supertall and Burrard Exchange.
